R. W. Edwards Victorian Garnet yellow gold pendant necklace, circa 1890s.

The Victorian Garnet yellow gold pendant from the 1890s, was made by master jeweler R. W. Edwards of Oakland, California.  Handmade with a textured hammered finish and set with a buff top oval Garnet, it has somewhat of a Gothic feel to it.                               It had to have taken several days to make this piece.  Just amazing how simple and detailed it is. 

SPECIFICATIONS:

 GEMSTONE: One oval buff top Garnet measuring approximately  12mm X 9.7mm.

 METAL: 14k yellow gold

 WEIGHT 5.4 grams.

 DIMENSIONS: 1.75" LONG BY 9/16" WIDE.

CHAIN: Vintage machine-made rope chain 14k yellow gold, 18" long. 

CONDITION:  high magnification photographs show considerable design details, and this pendant necklace is in very good condition, all consistent with age and wear.
